In this blog I intend to do some historical justice to the many, many women who have contributed with their genius, creativity, adventurous spirit, nurturing - amongst other qualities - to the apparent linear and male dominated prescribed notion of History. This is just the beggining.

Lu these are some of my favorite female artists, who have inspired me over the years... I never understood why their work is not as valued as their contemporary male artists. I guess in many ways its a great privilege for us to get to know them and to have the chance to see their work so close. Unfortunately many women will never have access to their wonderful legacy.
Eine Kleine Nachmusik 1943 by Dorothea Tanning (top above) is part of the permanent exhibitions @ Tate Modern...It's simply a fantastic painting!
